We are currently hiring for a Bridge Engineering Assistant position in Juneau, AK. This role is designed to give early-career engineers a hands-on experience with our state’s diverse and challenging infrastructure. Your students will have the chance to be deeply involved in projects that range from conducting structural inspections and analyzing existing bridges to designing new structures and overseeing their construction.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Comprehensive Engineering Experience:
This position offers a full spectrum of bridge engineering tasks,
including structural analysis, calculations, and the preparation of
detailed plans, specifications, and cost estimates. You’ll work directly
under the guidance of licensed engineers who are experts in their field.
- Field and Office Work:
The role provides a balance between office work and federally mandated
bridge inspection trips. One of the highlights of this position is the
opportunity to travel multiple times a year across Alaska, reaching some
of the most remote and beautiful locations in the state.
